Monument Buffalo amphibious vehicle

On April 3, 2014, there is disclosed an artwork at the new entrance to Park Toorenvliedt.
The artwork represents a Buffalo amphibious vehicle for commemorating six soldiers ran on a mine near the park with their Buffalo amphibious vehicle and were killed.

Tekst on the plaque:
In memory of the liberation of Middelburg
On November 6, 1944 the Allied Forces mounted an attack to liberate Middelburg of the Germans.
This operation was carried out with Buffalo amphibious vehicles.
In the vicnity of Ter Hooge and Toorenvliedt one of these vehicles (named ‘Snipe’) ran over a mine,
which led to the dead of six British soldiers. These are remembered with honour.
