Jewish Cemetery Lodz

The Jewish cemetery of Lodz can be seen as the biggest of Europe. 43.000 jews who died in the Lodz ghetto (Litzmannstadt) are buried here on the "Ghetto field".

These pits were dug by the last jewish survivors of the Lodz ghetto (Litzmannstadt). The executions never happened and today the pits are conserved as mute reminders of a horrible event in the history of mankind.
