Reconstructed Infantry Strongpoint Ruigenhoek

This is a reconstructed group nest as in 1939 and 1940 many were built. Recently, the vegetation removed so that it became visible.

A strongpoint is a loose piece of trench which was completely surrounded by rows of barbed wire. It was often combined with a group shelter. The normal occupancy of a strongpoint was 11 soldiers.
