Ferme de la Haie Sainte

This farm was somewhat located lower and therefore difficult to defend. Because the farm was located very close to Wellington's line, it was necessary for him to defend it. By defending it, he tried to prevent the French from capturing it, so that they could use it as a steppingstone for their attacks. That's why Wellington decided to have a unit of 360 men from the King's German Legion to defend this stronghold, prior to the battle. The first attacks on the farm began in the afternoon. The French surrounded the farm and after heavy fighting, Wellington was forced to give up the farm. Only a few defenders made it out alive and were able to reach the crossing.
