Allied Airmen Memorial Giessenlanden
On Saturday 2 May 2015, Prof. Pieter van Vollenhoven has unveiled the Allied Airmen Memorial in Giessenburg.
The Memorial commemorates the crew of six allied aircraft which crashed during the Second World War on the territory of the present municipality of Giessenlanden. Of the 36 crew members, 14 were killed.
The Memorial contains the names of the former municipalities and information about the aircraft and crewmembers.
