Memorial Private Gaele Visser Dutch Reformed Cemetery Haskerhorne

In Haskerhorne a monument was unveiled on 2 May 2015 for the Frisian Canadian soldier Gaele Visser, born in Haskerhorne 1920 and emigrated to Canada in 1930.
After being admitted to the Canadian army in 1942, Gaele Visser was part of the Algonquin Regiment and fought in the liberation of Western Europe. He was killed on 23 April 1945 in the area of Oldenburg, Germany. Gaele Visser is buried on the Holten Canadian War Cemetery.
