Memorial 5th U.S. Infantry Division Saur Crossing

This memorial commemorates the crossing by the 5th US Infantry Division of the Our river in World War II.

The text on the stone is as follows:
In honor of the 5th U.S. Infantry Division.
Which crossed the Sauer river here on February 7-1945.
Under heavy enemy fire and adverse weather conditions.
Their sacrifices helped to bring freedom again to our country.
We shall remember.
