Fortress Cathedral St. Nicholas

This garrison cathedral was built in 1856-1879. The church bells (picture 3) were removed and taken by retreating Russian forces in 1915. It was damaged by a bomb in September 1939 and largely destroyed during the Battle of Brest in June 1941. The defenders of the Brest fortress are commemorated here.
