India Gate

This memorial commemorates the Indian soldiers who were killed or missing in the First World War.

"This gateway is the gift of India
in commemoration of hers son's who- stricken
in the Great War- were tended in the Pavilion
in 1914 and 1915.
Dedicated to the use of the inhabitants of
Brighton by H.H. the Maharaja of Patiala on
October 26th, 1921. B.N. Southall Mayor"
