Memorial Capture John McCain

This memorial in Hà Nội commemorates the capture of John McCain on the west shore of Truc Bach Lake in Hanoi. On 26 October 1967, while on a bombing mission over Hanoi, he was shot down, seriously injured and captured by the North Vietnamese. He was a prisoner of war until 1973. In that time, he was tortured.
