Memorial Air Battle Ehrwald

This is a memorial in commemoration of the heaviest airbattle over Tirol on August 3rd 1944. German fighters shot down 8 Liberator bombers of the 15th USAAF. 30 crew members were killed, while 49 were able to rescue themselves by bailing out, only to become prisoners of war.
