Biography

Son of Francis and Ruth Matilda Waters of Victoria, British Columbia. Private in the Westminster Regiment (Motor). Killed at the age of 30 on 17 April 1945 during fierce fighting in the liberation of Putten near Voorthuizerstraat.

He is buried at the Canadian Cemetery in Groesbeek and was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, the Italy Star, the France & Germany Star, the War Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. His name appears on the monument to the Canadian servicemen in Putten. His headstone bears the inscription "In Loving Memory Of Our Dear Son And Brother. Until The Shadows Flee Away"
