Chief Medical Officer Dr. Bull from our Gau Munich-Upper Bavaria, regimental doctor in a Bavarian infantry regiment was awarded with the German Cross in Gold.
During the fighting against the Soviet Union, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Bull, who had already been awarded the two Iron Crosses in the Polish and Western campaigns, again for his special bravery took care of the wounded in heavy infantry and artillery fire, often carried them back personally and organized their removal in an exemplary manner. During the fighting against a Soviet bunker line, he also looked after the wounded in the midst of strong enemy defensive fire. As such, the senior staff doctor was in the forefront of all battles in his regiment, always on the spot whenever the wounded needed his help.
