Biography

McCoy Reynolds was born on the of 23rd September 1916, the 6th child and 4th son of Jonas Tilden and Rosabelle Short. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve at Louisville, Kentucky on 23rd January 1942. He was killed in action on Guadalcanal 25th November 1942 after boldly exposing himself to destroy a Japanese machine gun nest in fighting to defend Henderson Field. Besides his personal decorations he was entitled to the Presidential Unit Citation.
