Citation:
"At HOOGERHEIDE in HOLLAND, on 8th October 1944 Lance-Corporal Rundvall, a carrier driver in the mortar platoon, on three seperate occasions, took it upon himself to drive out under fire and bring in casualties from forward positions. Though these trips were far beyond the normal call of his duty Lance-Corporal Rundvall at no time considered the danger to himself, thinking only of getting the wounded in to a place of safety.

On another occasion, during the battle of the dykes on ZUID BEVELAND, when signal communication broke down and only one signaller remained, he stepped into the breech. Twice under heavy fire he followed the wire from the Battalion Mortar Platoon to the other mortar platoons in the Brigade, making repairs, which resulted in the reopening of this vital link of communication."

Royal Decree No. 2 dated 8th December 1945.
The decoration was presented by the Dutch ambassador on 8th May 1948.
