    Biography

    George William Walters entered service with the RAAF on October 13th, 1940. He was killed in action with his Boulton Paul Defiant AA651 on the night of 17th/18th July 1943 while on patrol over the English Channel. A pilot from 253 Squadron saw a plane going down in flames, presumably the Defiant flown by F/O Walters and air gunner W/O George Neil.

    Both men are commemorated on the Roll of Honour memorial at former RAF Hunsdon airfield, where they were based.

    Walters reached the rank of Flying Officer and served with No. 515 Squadron, Royal Air Force.
