Biography
Private Arthur L. Gregory was mortally wounded during an attack on the south side of the "Waalbrug" in Nijmegen on September 20, 1944. He was shot by a sniper, while he was trying to drag Lieutenant William H. Savell, commander of the 2nd Platoon, Company F, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, to safety after Savell had been shot through both arms.
