Private Censullo, from Lawrence, Massachusetts, On February 22, 1945 - February 23, 1945, along with his comrades, ferried initial assault troops across the Rur River, under intense enemy small arms, mortar, and artillery fire. Undaunted by the heavy fire, Private Censullo and his comrades crossed and recrossed the river until all assault troops had reached the enemy side. Their outstanding courage was an important contribution to the successful attack which followed.
