Period:
Second World War (1939-1945)
Rank:
Kapitan (Captain)
Unit:
3rd Carpathian Anti-tank Regiment, 3rd Carpathian Rifle Division, Polish II Corps, Polish Armed Forces in the West
Awarded on:
June 1945
"As acting Commander of a Battery during the battle along the River Senio on 3rd Carpathian Brigade sector on 4th and 5th April 1945, he took over the anti tank defence of 3rd Carpathian Brigade under very difficult conditions. During greatly increased enemy artillery and mortar fire, he personally directed relief at all the forward positions and by his own calmness and self possession he set a fine example for the gun crews.

On 6th and 7th April 1945 he reorganised the anti tank defences in connection with the extension of the defence sector-also under increased enemy fire.

In subsequent offensive operations by 3rd Carpathian Brigade from the Senio to including Bologna as 2nd in command of the battery he very efficiently, skilfully and with great calm, organised the battery's supplies in difficult conditions and during the continuous advance."
