A Christian by faith, he lived at 121 Lusted Street in Winnipeg with his mother, Mrs. Marion Adams, who was listed as his next of kin. Before enlisting, he worked as a laborer.
Adams joined the Canadian Active Service Force on April 7, 1941, and served as a Rifleman in the Royal Winnipeg Rifles. He was deployed overseas during World War II, participating in the Allied campaign in Europe.
On June 8, 1944, just two days after D-Day, Adams was murdered by Waffen-SS soldiers at Château d’Audrieu in Normandy, France.
