Graves Perished Crew Members SS Meerkerk
The ss Meerkerk was a ship of the United Dutch Shipping Company.
On June 16, 1946, the Meerkerk at the Midden-Steenbanken was waiting for a pilot to sail to Antwerp. The Meerkerk was drifted to an area that had not yet been cleared of mines due to the waiting. Because of this the ship landed on a mine that exploded near the stern.
