Memorial Porta San Paolo

This memorial in Rome commemorates the Italians who died while fighting the Germans from September 1943 to July 1944. The area around the Porta San Paolo saw heavy fighting on 8 September 1943 while the Germans were occupying Rome.

The inscription reads:
In memoria dei gloriosi caduti che in difesa della liberta si immolaron in Roma dal settembre MCMXLIII al giugno MCMXLIV
