Paths German Ammunition depot

After Rotterdam was bombed by German aircraft on May 14, 1940, the rubble of the city was used as building material in the years of the occupation. This is how a load of rubble ended up in Oisterwijk. In 1943 the German occupiers built an ammunition depot in the Oisterwijk forests. As the trucks sank on the forest paths, the paths were paved with debris from Rotterdam.

These stones are still located in Oisterwijk 72 years later and form a walking path around the Goorven. This walking path is marked with information columns. So that the events of the 2nd World War are remembered by current and future generations.
