Commonwealth War Grave Old General Cemetery Breukelen

On the Old General Cemetery at the Kerkplein is one Commonwealth War Grave. This is the grave of Flight Lieutenant Christopher James Maltby. Maltby flew the Spitfire IX RK860 of the 124 Sqdn of the RAF. He crashed on March 25, 1945 at 11.00 in Kortrijk (near Breukelen) after his plane was damaged by an explosion of his own bomb.

The gravestone is not a usual GWGC gravestone, the stone was donated by the residents of Breukelen.
