Jewish Monument OBS De Vlinder

The Jewish monument in front of the Public Primary School De Vlinder is a reminder of the 5 Jewish children from Ter Apel who were no longer allowed to go to primary school at Schotslaan and were taken to Westerbork by the German Occupant in 1942 together with their parents.

The names of the children are:

born December 12, 1931 in Groningen
murdered November 23, 1942 in Auschwitz

Julius Jakob Levie
born May 4, 1930 in Vlagtwedde
murdered November 23, 1942 in Auschwitz

Floratiene Levie
born March 9, 1932 in Vlagtwedde
murdered December 3, 1942 in Auschwitz

Samuel Levie
born February 23, 1935 in Vlagtwedde
murdered November 23, 1942 in Auschwitz
