Memorials Military camp of Lombardsijde

In the military camp of Lombardsijde there are nine monuments that pay tribute to regiments of the Belgian army and their fallen men.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall, Belgium started closing its barracks in West Germany. After their move, some regiments were housed in Lombardsijde, where most were later disbanded. The monuments in the camp are the last reminders of a piece of Belgian military history.

These plaques are dedicated to:

- The men of the PJ-GN (Units Searchlights) who died in the war of 14-18. This monument used to be in the Sint-Anna barracks in Laken.
After the fall of Antwerp in October 1914, the Compagnie Projecteurs was disbanded. In 1915 a new unit of searchlights was established. It had lights with different diameters: 15.30, 60 and 90 cm. From 1916 the searchlights were also used for air defense. Later this unit became the "Technical service of searchlights".

- The fallen of the 2nd Regiment GTL (Ground Defense Against Aircraft) during the Second World War. This plate comes from the Sint-Anna barracks in Laken.

- The fallen heroes of the AA (ground defense against aircraft) during the war of 14-18. This plate comes from the St. Anne's Barracks in Laeken.
