On May 6, 2022, a memorial monument was unveiled at the memorial and walking park 't Olde Kerkhof in Genkoppen that commemorates the 636 victims who died within the former Municipality of Genkoppen en Wisch (now Oude IJsselstreek) during the period 1940-1945.
This commemorative monument was realized in collaboration with the Moezeköttel foundation, the OWNV working foundation (Opdat Wij Niet Vergeten Genderingen-Wisch 1940-1945) and the municipality of Oude IJsselstreek. All information can be scanned on site via QR codes on the lectern. It is also accessible for wheelchair users. The 175 German soldiers who fell in this region are also commemorated here on this memorial.
