Memorial Franz Bonsang

This is a monument to a fallen sergeant from Fort Barchon:

BONSANG Franz, 29 years old, born in Herve, sergeant in the Regiment de Fortresse de Liège (R.F.L.) at Fort Barchon.

He was killed on May 12, 1940, during a German attack on bunker BM 3.

This bunker belonged to the Barchon-Meuse sector of the second line of defense for the city of Liège. La Position Fortifiée de Liège 2, PFL 2. Bunker BM 3 is located 300 meters further north in a backyard (object not yet published on this site).

He is buried in the cemetery of Herve.
