Bunker Vi 1 Visé

This bunker is known as Vi1, Visé 1 from the 3rd line of defense around the city of Liège. The lines of defense are known as 'La Position Fortifiée de Liège" (PFL 3). The bujkers were build around 1934-35. The sector of Visé consisted of 17 bunkers.

La Position Fortifiée de Liège can be translated as "the location of fortifcations of Liège".

The PLF consists of 4 lines of forts and bunkers in defence for the city of Liège.

This is the 1st bunker form the sector of the town of Visé. This sector is lilmited by bunker Ag10 of the nearby sector of the village of Argenteau, Unfortunately this bunker which was about 300 m. distance of Vi1 is demolished after the war. The first bunker in this nearby sector would be bunker Ag9. This bunker is located on a farmyard. To the norht-west bunkers Vi2 and Vi3 can be found.

This is a small type bunker and is located in an apple orchard. The damage is post-war. When afther the war the bunker became out of use, the iron shutters and doors wereremoved and sold as scrap. (On the left- and rightside of the bunker there are 10 beehives ! which provide pollination for the blossom.)

The northside of the sector is at a distance of 5 km from the border with The Netherlands.
