Belgian War Graves Corbion

Scattered throughout the cemetery are several graves of those who died in the First and Second World Wars.

HENRY Jean Baptiste, corporal 9th line 2nd bat. 6th cie, died for the fatherland in Haacht on September 10, 1914.

BRASSEUR Paul Joseph, soldier 2nd class, 2nd line 2nd bat 7th cie.
He was wounded on November 1, 1918, he died for his country in the Our Lady Hospital in Sint-Michiels (Bruges) on November 6, 1918.
He was reburied on August 20, 1921 in his native village of Corbion.

HEROLD Arthur soldier 2nd class, 4th line 1st bat. 2nd cie.
He was injured at the outposts of Oud-Stuivekenskerke. On November 4, 1916 he was admitted to the Belgian military hospital "l'Océan" in De Panne where he
died the next day from his injuries (skull fracture).
First burial took place at the military cemetery in Adinkerke, He was later exhumed there on August 16, 1921 and reburied on August 19, 1921 in Corbion,
He was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Leopold II with palm and the War Cross with palm.

There are also 3 war victims from the Second World War:
LEPINOIS Marcel, soldier, 20th Artillery Ardennes Hunters. Fallen on the field of honor in Riemst on May 10, 1940.
TOUSSAINT Eugène died for the fatherland.
NANGNIOT Henri died in Essen in 1945.
