Memoral 'The Little White Cross'

This memorial in the form of a white cross marks the spot where Corporal Aimé Periard died as one of the first soldiers of the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Highlanders, R.C.I.C. on 4 April 1945. During his platoon's advance on the liberation of Zutphen and Warnsfeld, they met fierce opposition from fanatical members of the Hitlerjugend in which he was fatally wounded.
