Maritme Museum Fort Mindin

This museum displays the civil and military maritime history of France and that of Fort Mindin. Items on display include ship models and maritime artefacts. The museum is housed in the former Fort Mindin, built in the 19th century at the mouth of the Loire River as a defensive structure for the port of Saint-Naizare. During World War II, the Fort was used by the Germans and severely damaged in 1944. Around the fort are still some four bunkers from that period. In 1983, it was restored and opened as a museum.
