This memorial window in the diaconate of the Evangelical Lutheran Church commemorates the Jewish residents of the Kemper block who perished during the Second World War.
This block of houses was built in 1932 on behalf of the Evangelical Lutheran Church from a bequest by Mr J.R. Kemper. The block covers the addresses Uiterwaardenstraat 288-316, Maasstraat 146-154 and Rooseveltlaan 191-209 (formerly Zuideramstellaan).
During the Second World War, 77 Jewish residents were taken from these houses to be murdered in Nazi concentration camps. To ensure that this important history is not forgotten, this memorial window was unveiled on 29 September 2021, listing the names of all those who were murdered.
