Coenhaven

The Coenhaven in Amsterdam was constructed in 1933 and is located in the Western Docklands, between the Vlothaven and the North Sea Canal, near the Coen Tunnel, which later gave the harbor its name. Originally, the harbor served as a reception center for ships and businesses that no longer had a place in the Eastern Docklands.

During World War II, the harbor was used by the German occupying forces. The Luftgaukommando Holland had a large warehouse there, as did the Wehrmacht District Administration, which owned two warehouses.
