Stelling van Amsterdam - Second Gunpowder Harbour Buitenhuizen
The lifespan of the first gunpowder harbor at Buitenhuizen is linked to the canal widening of 1931-1938 and that of 1967. Before that period, the harbor was situated somewhat to the right. It ran parallel to the canal and had two entrances. It was likely also used for unloading ammunition aboard cargo ships bound for Amsterdam.
