Remains Ammunition Storage Marthalager
German ammunition storage area (called Marthalager). Russian prisoners of war had been put to work here. After the bombing of the center of Hengelo, the rubble from the houses was used to pave the paths. After the liberation, the youth of Oldenzaal took ammunition from this ammunition storage place. Unfortunately, something went wrong and 7 people from Oldenzaal and 1 Allied soldier were killed.
