Monument Hampden I AD797 50 Sqn. RAF

Monument in the cemetery in Linde commemorating the crew of the Hampden AD797 of 50 Squadron RAF. The aircraft was returning from a bombing raid on Düsseldorf and crashed in Linde during the night of June 2-3, 1941.
The four crew members were killed.
P/O Peter Brown, navigator
P/O Philip Hodgson, pilot
Sgt. John Donnely, wireless operator / air gunner,
Sgt. George Cheetham, wireless operator / air gunner,
All four are buried in Leopoldsburg War Cemetery.
