The cemetery of Herstal-Foxhalle contains several Belgian war graves.
Buried here are:
BLOOM Justin, age 28, from Herstal, member of the Armée Secret resistance movement, shot at the Citadel of Liège on September 4, 1944. This was on the eve of the liberation of Liège on September 6. After being arrested on May 25, 1944, for transporting ammunition and weapons from France, he was interrogated and tortured by the Gestapo for three months. His lifeless body was found unburied near the Citadel. He was one of the last five prisoners to be shot at the Citadel on September 4th 1944.
FRESON Alphonse, age 29, born in Herstal, soldier in the 21st Line Regiment, killed in action on May 27, 1940, in Tielt.
HAUREGARD Jean, age 30, born in Herstal, adjutant in the 10th Line Regiment (his grave bears the inscription 20th Regiment), killed in an explosion in the grenade depot in Boezinge on June 4, 1917.
WOLUWE Jean, age 31, born in Herstal, adjutant in the paratroopers, member of the Special Operations Executive, secret agent, shot in Germany on April 26, 1945.
