Navy Museum Den Helder

The Navy Museum in Den Helder tells the story of the Dutch Navy, from the past to the present. The museum is located on an old naval shipyard, Willemsoord, and consists of various buildings and real naval ships that you can view and enter.

Inside you will see exhibitions about the history of the Navy, life on board ships, and the technology behind shipbuilding and weapons. Everything is clear and often interactive, so that children will also find it interesting.

One of the highlights is the submarine Tonijn. You can actually walk around in it and see what life was like for the crew. You can also go on the ram ship Schorpioen and the minesweeper Abraham Crijnssen, which became famous by disguising itself as an island during the Second World War.

The museum is open every day from 10:00 to 17:00. It is located near the train station of Den Helder and the boat to Texel. Children up to and including 3 years old can enter for free. It is a fun and educational outing for young and old.

For current visiting hours, please visit the website of the museum.
