This Plaque commemorates the resistance fighters killed on the Vloeiweide in Rijsbergen.

TO BRAVE RESISTANCE OF THE
BREDA UNDERGROUND FORCES
COMMITTED AGAINST THE GERMAN SUPPRESSOR
AS A RESULT THE FOLLOWING PERSONS DIED
ON 4 OCTOBER 1944 IN RIJSBERGEN:

H.J.P. WINDHAUSEN - H.P.J. BRAUTIGAM - N.H. HOFMAN.
J.J. V.D. BOOGAARD - J.J. NELISSEN - H.J. V.D. HEUVEL.
M. V.D. BOOGAARD - H.G.P.M. V.D. SANDE - J.D. VRIES.
H.A.J. TOUW - J.J. BAKKER - J.M. OBERG - F.F.D. VISSER.

The text on the plaque is incorrect.
Five resistance fighters were killed during a firefight on October 4, 1944:
Henricus Josephus Paulus Windhausen
Marinus van den Boogaard
Hendrikus Gerardus Petrus Marie van der Sande
Hendrikus Adrianus Touw
Johan Marinus Oberg

The remaining eight were taken prisoner and shot on 5 October at Galderseweg in Breda. [towid] 12610, See monument. [/ towid]
