Memorial French Free Forces Tobruk

This plaque is attached to the wall of the French war cemetery in Tobruk and reads the following words:

"THE UNITED NATIONS OWE A
VERY GREAT DEBT OF GRATITUDE
AND ADMIRATION TO THE FIRST
FREE FRENCH BRIGADE AND ITS
GALLANT COMMANDER.

CAIRO, JUNE 12.1942"
