Memorial Deported Jewish Haarlem

This plaque is brickworked into the walls of the old synagogue of Haarlem and commemorates the deported Jews from haarlem. The text on the plaque reads:

"AT THIS PLACE THE
SYNAGOGUE FOUNDED IN 1841. DEGRADED
IN THE YEARS 1940-1945 5700-5705
IN COMMEMORATION OF THE DEPORTED
AND PERISHED JEWS FROM HAARLEM
INCLUDING THE RABBIS
S.PH. DE VRIES AND PH. FRANK."
