Remembrance Tile Wall Polar Bears

The cyclists tunnels under the Berenkuil are lined with tiles that commemorate the arrival in Utrecht of the English / Canadian reconnaissance unit "Polar Bears" (49th Regiment) in 1945, after the surrender of the Germans. They came along this route.

The memorial, from 2001, is named "Bear Parade" and was made by Berkman en Janssens.
