Jewish Memorial Family Heckscher Sleen

The Memorial commemorates the Jewish family Heckscher and all victims of the Holocaust.

The Heckscher family was the only Jewish family in Sleen.

General Police Journal, No. 40, October 8, 1942, 1142, message 2264:
The mayor of Sleen requested on behalf of the Security Police in Assen, located, detained and brought Elsiena Geertina Heckscher-Jozep. She was suspected of having changed her place of residence without having the required authorization this description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding.
