Museum für Naturkunde

This museum was hit by a bomb on 3 February 1945, during an daytime air raid. This bomb went right through the insect collection on the second floor of the East Wing, took out parts of the library and one of the collection rooms on the first floor and landed in the Anatomy Hall on the ground floor, where it exploded. This explosion destroyed the entire East Wing, which was finally rebuild in 2006.

The museum was also the site of heavy fighting during the Battle of Berlin in 1945.
