Fort Vaux

Fort Vaux was built between 1881 and 1884. It saw heavy fighting during the Battle of Verdun in 1916. The fort was taken by the Germans on 7 June 1916 and recaptured by the French on 2 November 1916.

The fort today:
Fort Vaux can be visited these days as a museum.
