Memorial Deceased French Refugees

This memorial commemorates the 454French refuguees who deceased in the Netherlands during the Great War (World War I).

On the stone in front of the memorial it is mentioned that this memorial was revealed on 23th of May 1926 by Prince Hendrik, the husband of Queen Wilhelmina.
The monument is made of limestone and portraits an angel who guards a tomb.

At the bottom of the tomb it says

ILS S'EN DORMAIENT PARLANT DU RETOURAUX PAYS

They fell asleep talking about returning to their homeland
