War Memorial H. Andrew's Church

A plaque inside the H. Andrew's Church commemorates the members of the parish who were killed in World War II.

Th. Van Heereveld and Th. Repkes died in German concentration camps. Two streets in Weurt are named after them.
There are also the names of five children who died at the same time while playing on the Waaldijk by shrapnel (October 4, 1944). After the war (1946) a monument was erected for this in the cemetery, which was blown over by a storm wind in 1993 and broken into pieces. In 2014, a new children's monument was inaugurated with seven boulders as a memento of these children. The other victims were killed by shrapnel or mortar shells.
Mr. W. Hendriks died during the bombing of Nijmegen (22 February 1944).
