Vietnam Women’s Memorial

More than 265,00 military and civilian women served around the world in the Vietnam Era. Nearly 10,000 served within the Vietnam theatre of war. The monument was designed and sculpted by Glenna Goodacre and dedicated on 11 Nov 1993. The memorial depicts 3 uniformed women with a wounded soldier which had been criticized for inaccuracy nurses did not treat in the field.
Together with the Three Soldiers statue and the Memorial Wall, the Vietnam Women's Memorial forms the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
The Memorial is the only one on the Mall dedicated solely to women.
