St. Paul's Abbey Oosterhout

Belgian refugees in Oosterhout.

During the First World War when the Germans on 7 october Antwerp attacked, fled many Belgians refugees to the Netherlands.
A group of refugees were six brothers and 43 boys in the juvenile ash from Westmalle. They were housed in St. Paul's Abbey and they go until december 1918 home.

During World War II, the bells of the Paulusabdij was stolen by the Germans.
